Stoke City captain Ryan Shawcross, reveals why he left Manchester United. Players 28 years admitted disagreements with Sir Alex Ferguson.
Shawcross began his career as a professional football player at Old Trafford. But along with the Manchester club, he never got a chance to play with the first team.
The player who plays as a central defender was then loaned out to Stoke City and permanently in 2007. He was the offer of a new contract at Manchester United after undergoing a loan, but he turned it down because he wanted clarity.
"After a few months [undergo borrowing] I got the offer of a new contract at United, but I want to play," Shawcross explained.
"Me and Sir Alex does not agree, he wanted to sign me but will be re-lent. I will survive [Stoke] after a record 150 games but now it is 350. I want to end a career of more than 500 games. If I stay at United, maybe this would not have happened, "he explained
